Through the 1980’s, 90’s, and 2000’s 8-bit has become a cult following. Children who grew up playing Atari and Nintendo are now parents with children old enough to play video games. In today’s age, 8-bit now stands for simplicity and a minimalist form of creativity. There is a beauty to the crudeness. People enjoy understanding their technology. This documentary makes clear that this is ‘no nostalgia show.’ It is a high form of cultural thought.
